There is still a breed of humans that is supporting the attack on Israel

Yes, you read it right. There are humans among us who are supporting the attack, or in better words, the atrocities that are done by some individuals on others.

There was an attack by Hamas on Israel on 7th October 2023 (about 20–24 hours from now) and since then there have been numerous videos on Twitter and other social media platforms displaying brutal murders and torturing of children, women, and men. The graphics are disturbing and can cause distress to anyone who isn’t used to violence. Some 1000+ individuals have died from both sides and the causalities are only expected to rise in coming days.

What has happened on the internet is more interesting. People become divided into two fractions:

  1. People who are condemning the attack and the atrocities
  2. People who are supporting it

There is a growing debate between both groups where the individuals from both groups are trying to use their logic to defend their viewpoints. But what is appalling is the fact that there are individuals who are justifying the inhumane atrocities that are being done in the name of cause or revenge.

You and I can support any cause and may be willing to put our resources into it. It may include dedicating our lives and intellectual capacities to it but it is never justifiable to torture a child.

This is not the first time in history when a war is waged for a cause and certainly it won’t be the last. But throughout history, if one thing is true, it is the fact that all good causes were to protect, promote, and ensure freedom & equality of life to all. When someone becomes so focused on the cause that they stop seeing the present and the impact of their actions, the cause is not just diluted, it is lost.

Waging war against Israel may be right and justifiable to some people but how can one ignore when these individuals are seen brutalizing women and children who have no part in the war?

There are kids who hardly understand the meaning of war and the cause of their oppressor but they are being tortured and killed alike. And all this is happening in the name of cause.

A war benefits only two parties, the one who is making weapons and the one who is supporting it. Wars don’t benefit the fighting parties, they are fighting it for a cause and often end up losing their lives, families, resources, countries, and their humanness in the process.

And when these fighting parties don’t practice humanness in their methods of resistance, the cause for which they are fighting is lost. Although impossible, even if Hamas gets successful in making a small win in this episode, they would lose the war in the eyes of their Palestinian children and grandchildren. The families from both sides, who are currently being tortured would never live in peace, and that pain would again disrupt the social harmony in coming times. There would be endless children who would grow up to be mentally sick, psychopaths, murderers, rapists, and barbarians because that’s what they saw in their childhood.

A progressive society would have condemned the atrocities on the wreaker sections without bothering if it was done by Israel or Hamas. If all parties, including those living in Palestine, had condemned the atrocities on the disabled, children, and the weaker section of the societies, there would have been huge support pouring from all over the world but now more and more people would be aggrieved and would hoot for further fight and disturbance. In the end, more innocent individuals would sacrifice their lives and these hate mongers would go to sleep in their beds blaming one of two parties.

These are the viewpoints of the author. The above viewpoints are not to support either Israel/ Palestine, or the cause of the resistance but to dwell on the mental sickness that justifies torturing innocent children in name of a cause. The author sincerely wishes that both parties would restrain from war and try their best to protect humans on both sides (especially children, women, aged and disabled who are already enduring too much pain in these tough times).
